Tissue Art
This weeks workshop was again a little messy but who doesn't love a bit of messy creativeness every once in a while, especially when its not at your own home and you don't have to clean up after! 😆
Todays focused on using a different technique to create some beautiful inked and embossed tissue paper backgrounds. To do this you:
- First the ladies applied ink to the mask/stencil, either in one block colour or using several different ink pads to give a multi colour effect.
- Then apply one layer of the tissue paper onto the inked area.
- Apply watered PVA glue to the back of the paper, ensuring a nice even coverage.
- Repeat the above steps for two more layers, this allows the finished result to be a little thicker and as such more manageable.
- Ensure the layers are pressed nicely into the blank mask spaces to give you that embossed texture.
- Ensure the paper is not to saturated (apply the heat gun if too wet), and then peel of the mask gently.
- Lay onto a heat proof mat and dry using the heat gun, or alternatively you can allow to dry naturally over a longer period of time.
- And there you have it a beautiful background!
Happy Crafting
