Jubilee

Celebrations

Today was all about celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee (a little early, we know!). In the workshop the ladies made a commemorative calendar and note holder to use through out the year (centre of image), Yvonne also hand made a little goodie bag for everyone with a beautifully crafted commemorative plaque. Take a look through the pictures to see the fun we had.

To make the decorative hanging notes and calendar piece, the ladies cut the chipboard to size and then applied gesso to the edging, once the gesso was dry they then paint over in the desired colour. It was then time to apply the decorative dotty paper to the chipboard, making sure to attach the ribbon underneath the paper before sticking to allow a neat finish. Then it was simply a case of decorating by adding the die cuts, calendar and creating the notes pocket, finishing off with embellishments.

 This weeks workshop;

Enchanting Eucalyptus 

 

 These stunning cards have been created using the Paper Boutique Enchanting Eucalyptus Paper collection, and I'm sure you'll agree they look stunning. This colour pallet is ideal for both men and women, so that makes it nice and versatile for many projects you may have in mind. 

Although complex looking the cuboid cards is relatively simple to make, it's simply constructed from five cuboids. One large centre piece with two small adjoining cuboids, attached to the end pieces, which are of a medium size. The great thing about this card is its a brilliant stand out card but also handy for posting as it can be folded flat! 

The cards have used the Sue Wilson Die, Indonesian Collection - Bali Die (CED14004) to create lovely borders and shapes that enhance the patterned paper.

Jubilee Celebrations

We are holding workshops to commemorate The Queens Platinum Jubilee.

 This weeks workshop;

Floribunda 

 

The ladies created these three simple yet very elegant cards today. Each card has been embossed to give a nice dimension to the backing card, a smidge of colour was then blended over the top of the card with ink using a smoothie or blending brush, raising the emboss design. A stamped and embossed image was coloured using Distress Inks to create a topper  using Sue Wilson coordinating dies and stamps. Of course the cards were given a little ribbon and embellishments to finish them off. No card is complete without a bit of bling. 

 Although they look sophisticatedly simple, there are a lots of different techniques used to produce these cards.

This weeks workshop;

Mini Album

The ladies started off by constructing the back bones of the Mini Album from grey board. Which were then adhered to a sheet of white card to connect them together. It was then onto constructing the insides of the album, this was done using white card glued together to make  concertina fold out pages. From there on it was all about covering all the blank pages with some beautiful Paper Boutique pattered paper. There where no scraps in sight as these where used to create inserts, tags, etc. 

 

These mini alums are a wonderful gift idea, why not give it a go and create a album to be remembered.
