Sun Ray Art....

Sun Ray Art.....

For this weeks workshop our Ladies created these beautiful 'Sun Ray' cards....

There was a lot of cutting involved for this workshop, however the outcome was definitely worth it.

For the first card, our Ladies started with three different sheets of paper. Then using their Trimmers roughly cut each sheet into triangles. Before they cut the blue paper, they put a Stick It - Adhesive Sheet on top. After pulling off the backing, they sprinkled Cosmic Shimmer's Glitter Jewels - Iced Snow (CE-CSGJICSNOW) on top to create the sparkly and glittery effect.

Then after taking another Stick It - Adhesive Sheet (and cutting it down to the size of their card), they decided where their focal point would be and then began laying the triangles around it to create the 'Sun Ray' effect. It didn't matter where their focal point was as it would have worked anywhere on the card. Lastly, they trimmed around the outside with scissors to give it a clean edge.

For the topper they took the Woodware 2.5" Punch - Scalloped Circle (W-828-01) and punched the matching blue paper. Then using the Woodware Super Lever Punch 2" - Circle (W-830-04) punched another circle to lay on top. To finish the topper they stamped it with Personal Impressions' Clear Stamp - Happy Birthday Circle (PI- CICST071).

For the second card the same techniques were used for creating the 'Sun Ray Effect' however the cream card was stamped and embossed using the Personal Impressions Clear Stamps - Swirls and Flourishes (PI-PICS015).

The topper was die-cut using Spellbinders - Nestabilities - Labels Four (PI-SBS4-190) and layered using the matching brown and cream card. The topper was then stamped using Stampendous Clear Stamp Set - Friendly Phrases.

We hope you enjoyed these cards and that they gave you a little inspiration to create something similar.

Happy Crafting!
