Summer Butterflies.......

Something a little different this week. In this weeks workshop we made the following two cards using the delightful clear stamp from Woodware  and Distress Inks to create the backgrounds.

The first card is a A5 Gatefold. the background was created by firstly stamping the butterfly randomly onto a piece of white cardstock using Perfect Medium and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. These stamped areas will act as a resist when you apply the ink. Apply some random colours of distress ink onto a craft mat , spritz with water and then place the stamped card face down into the ink, remove and leave to dry or dry with a heat gun.Cut up the background into 2 strips 6 1/2 x 20 1/2 cm keeping the remaining strip.Glue these to the front of the card.Take another strip of white cardstock 3 1/2 x 20 1/2 cm ink the edges with distress ink , layer with the leftover thin strip and glue down the centre of one of the panels on the card.
The butterflies have been stamped onto cardstock which has been inked as above but without the resist.

We used Fired Brick and Spiced Marmalade Distress InksThe second card is a slim card. You can make two out of an A4 piece of card stock. The background was made in the same way as the above card but we used Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks .The butterfly was stamped twice and the top layer is smaller as we cut away the top part of the wings

We hope you like the creations this week

Happy Crafting
