Magnificent Monarch

Two beautiful cards and 1 box were made in this weeks' workshop.
These cards are of a neutral style which would suit both ladies and men as either a winter birthdays or Christmas cards.

The images are from napkins, so the first layer of the napkin was peeled off and glued onto card using a glue stick. Once dry, the napkins are die-cut and layered onto die-cut frames and used behind an aperture.

Additionally, the box was a single sheet of card, then scored and glued to produce a square tube shape. Then a lid and base were made, gluing the base in place and then adding decorative additions.

Christmas Joy

This weeks workshop was a fun mixed media styled icon plaque. The ladies had to get a bit messy with paints, gilding wax and structure paste, but what we're pretty sure it was worth it!

Ideal for adding a festive touch to wherever it is placed. To create the design the following elements where used:
- Die cutting (lots and lots of it!)
- Stamping
- Painting (the plaque and JOY letters)
- Stencilling with structure paste
- Embossing card to use as a decorative background, which had a hint of gilding wax used to bring out the design.
- Rosette making

Advent Calendar

Today's weekly workshop was a bit different and involved a lot of cubes, glue and decorative additions!
The ladies constructed this wonderful advent tower, which we are sure will be taking centre stage in the home over Christmas. With Yvonne putting in a lot of prep work the ladies' main task was making the boxes, adding the decorative pieces to all sides, sounds easy but not so much when you have 24 boxes and then creating the tower

Memory Folio

The monthly workshop gave the ladies ideas on how to create a memory folio, similar concept to a scrapbook but slimmer, or alternatively it can be used to keep notes and stationery for those that like to be organised.

The folio is A4 size with fold out flaps, pockets and belly bands. It was decorated with lovely co- ordinating papers and a Waterfall mechanism so extra photographs can be added

Dreams Can Come True

Back to everyday cards this week. It involved a lot of stamping to create a decoupage and a tiled look. The stamped images were coloured with Distress inks.

For the first card (Pink Floral) a decoupaged topper in the centre and off the page images were stamped in the corners using different parts of the stamp.

The second card (Greyscale), the images were stamped and coloured before the card is embossed adding depth. By cutting the card into four squares it creates a tiled look.

💛🌹💛*NEW* Stamperia Rose Parfum Collection 💛🌹💛

Rose Parfum is dedicated to our favourite flower : the rose and its fragrance. It is really a powerful cocktail of memories and emotions. Roses and wild roses are the queens of flowers with their symbolic meaning. the red rose symbolizes represents love and desire while the yellow friendship, the white purity, the pink sympathy, and all the other colours have meanings but overall beauty and charm. Rose Parfum is an elegant Collection to create albums, journals, gifts and decorate the house.

A Mixed Medley of Christmas

This workshops main focus was adding colour to an embossed background, this was achieved using Ink blending brushes and Distress ink. Rather that the card designs, it was more a case of getting the ladies to truly understand how to apply the ink using the brushes in a way which leaves you with the colour depth you require and a floorless finish, something that is often overlooked. Therefore, the ladies had a play around with various embossing folders and made these card plus a few toppers to take home.
All that is required is a little time and some patients (I know that is a difficult task for some 😆, but the result are worth it honestly!).

Floral Mix

In this week's workshop the ladies made one twisted easel card and one simple fold card.

Firstly, it was a case of creating the base template for the card, with close attention needed for scoring. Once that was complete it was a case of mat and layering.
Then to enhance design a concertina fan was added, so that took a while of scoring and folding, at which point the ladies had become experts at.
Then finally they were onto adding the embellishments, including a flower in the top corner to act as a stand for the top layer.

The other card was a simple mat and layer style, incorporating a circle die, to break up the background. Then onto embellishments including a decorative word die. This card can be used for other occasions just by changing the sentiment.

A Christmas Assortment

Back to Christmas cards this week.
The ladies made these three different styles of cards, which has inspired them for future card ideas.

Pocket cards are always a favourite, allowing you to place something in it that can be taken out, such as a gift voucher.
Easel cards are always good fun especially for the receiver.
An A5 card with blended backgrounds. The heat embossing acts as a resist. They all feature the lovely, scripted tree stamp.

In the Frame

Despite the simplistic and elegant look of this weeks workshop, it involved several different techniques. There was quite a bit of die cutting of circles to do and a little bit for the butterflies, followed by embossing some beautiful backgrounds, for each card. Then it was a case of stamping, heat embossing and then colouring with distress inks. When you put it all together that when you get these beautiful creations.

Bubble Bonanza

We are back to Christmas this week, using the new Jane Gill Big Bubble stamps and dies. These brilliant stamps allow you to so much versatility. There are so many different options of how to fill in those circles, you could do it with paper or get messy with any mixed media.

To create the Bauble cards, the ladies first had to create the beautiful background using the Pixie Burst (Wild Moss & Rusty Red), adding just enough colour to  show through but not to much it distracts form the stamps.

Then it was a case of stamping and heat embossing. For the double bauble card, they were stamped directly onto the Pixie card, heat embossed and then coloured, using, pixie powders and water, polish silk glitter. (If colouring directly onto the Pixie card, the pixie powder already on the card with be reactivated with water, so you will have to used similar colours). The other single bauble card was stamped onto white card coloured using the same media and then cut around. Then it was simply mat and layering.

For the final card the stocking image, was stamped, heat embossed onto white card. To create the textured white top, the ladies used a embossing pent and white embossing powder. Additionally the leaves, were coloured using green ink. The circles where die cut using the coordinated die. Then shaped using a ball tool and finally layered onto the stamped image using foam tape, to give depth. This was then trimmed to shape and added to a patterned paper, which had be mat and layer to the card base. The they added a little sentiment to finish off.

Meadow Charm

Back to everyday cards in this week workshop. This workshop used the Paper Boutiques - Meadow Charm collection to create these three cards, and what can we say, we love the paper designs. You can never have enough of 'The Paper Boutique' pads.

If your looking to create a floral card this is definitely the pad for you, its lovely bright colours are nicely set on pale background.

In today's case it mainly consisted of lots of cutting and gluing. For the first card (diamond), the ladies had to cut all their papers to size, then emboss the two yellow diamonds. Then it was simply a case of mat and layering.

Card 2 (round topper), this card used lots of card, with the ladies needing to trim 9 pieces of card. The middle layers where then inked around the edges to blend the patterned paper and white backing card together. Then it was time to mat and layer. To recreate this card, it is a simple 15cmx15cm card, with the front page cut in half, then a 12cmx12cm card inserted to the middle of the card.

Card 3 was very simple, it is a square card base, layered with a patterned paper next, then a square piece of embossed ivory card. Finally three boarded panels, are layered on top with foam tape.

Its Beginning To Look Like Christmas

The first of many to come, this week was all about CHRISTMAS!
To ease everyone in gently, the workshop was a combination of a Card and a Chipboard Box.
The box is ideal for giving presents or special vouchers.

The card was made using decorative Christmas paper ,a stamp and matt and layering.
A aperture was cut from the patterned paper, turning it into a frame for the focal point, this being the stamped stocking image. The stockings were attached at either side and left hanging in the middle for a more 3D effect. The stocking image was created by stamping the image, heat embossed and then colouring, then it was a case of simply cutting the image out.

For the box the ladies had it nice and easy as Yvonne had pre cut the chipboard pieces, so it was a case of assembling the box using card hinges, to adhere it together, once complete the box was decorated with Christmas papers .

Plain & Simple

These simple but effective card are ideal for all occasions as they are so easily adaptable. The backgrounds where made using a light sprinkling of pixie powder, focusing on the working from the middle and graduating to the edges. Then it was a case of adding a die cut background and a little element die (in this case: a butterfly, champagne glasses, wheelbarrow and wellies). To finish it was a simple job of mat and layering, onto a delicate colour and then onto black, which was then adhered to the white card blank.

Summer Bonnet

Well what can we say but, look at this amazing card design! It is so adorably cute and such an amazing card to give away to someone lucky. There is a rather large amount of various circle dies involved with lots of layers and a lot of card but other than that it's simpler than it looks, we promise.

See below for materials to recreate:

Materials needed: -

A3 cardstock -score and fold in half. Die-cut a 17 ½ cm circle (placing over edge to create a fold). Score 1 side of card blank in half to create easel.

A4 cardstock- Die-cut another 17 ½ cm circle, attach to folded section of card blank.

************************

2 sheets A4 Brown cardstock

4 sheets A4 Teal cardstock

Die-cut: -

2 x circles 17 cm diameter (Teal)

2 x circles 16 ½ cm diameter (Brown embossed)

1 x circle 14 ½ cm diameter (Teal)

2 x circle frames (12 cm outer diameter & 9 ½ cm inner diameter) (Teal)

1 x circle 12cm diameter (Teal)

1 x circle 10 ½ cm diameter (Brown embossed)

Cut a strip of card 40cm x 8cm (you may have to join 2 strips together)

Score at 1cm and 7 cm down the long side and fold score lines. Snip along both edges. Attach circle frames top and bottom and finish with lid.

Layer and decorate as desired.
