Pixie Power Textured Backgrounds

This weeks workshop was fun as we used Pixie Powders from Creative Expressions .Glue was applied to Glossy black card covering the whole surface area and then Pixie Powers - Midnight Blue , Rich Gold , Teal Wash and Midnight Sky were tapped onto the glue.Heat the card with a Heat gun until the glue bubbles, leave to dry and then you have a wonderful background to create a card or die-cut flowers and embellishments.

Hopefully you can see the texture in these close up images

Again Pixie Powders - Midnight Blue , Rich Gold , Teal Wash and Midnight Sky were used but this time glue was applied to White card creating a totally different effect.

Why not take a look at all of the other wonderful colours in the pixie Powder range

Put on those Walking Boots......

This weeks workshop had our ladies enjoying stamping with the delightful clear stamp set designed by Jane Gill.

They created two cards - one with a Masculine theme and the other for the Ladies.

This card we used browns and blues.A simple patchwork background with some shadow stamping of the footprints. The walking boots were stamped onto white cardstock and coloured using Distress Inks - Frayed Burlap , Faded Denim , Antique Linen and then the image was cut out leaving a small border.A tag was made and stamped with the sentiment.

The same stamp set was used, but with this card we used for feminine colours. The boots were coloured with distress inks - Frayed Burlap , Victorian Velvet , Peacock Feathers and Mustard Seed.
The flowers from the stamp set were stamped randomly above the boots to create a Bouquet. The stems were drawn in using markers. This gives the effect of the boots being used a a flower pot.

SUNBEAMS

Using the Meadow stamp set from Design Objectives we created a beautiful card. The background was created by  randomly inking a piece of white cardstock with Distress inks - Victorian Velvet and Stormy sky.We inked through a dotty mask on the top corners with Stormy sky ink and then stamped the meadow grasses across the bottom of the cardstock in black ink.the small topper was created in the same way but using the flowers included in the stamp set. Both toppers were then embossed using the new Textures Embossing Folder - Sunbeam from Crafter's Companion.

We used the same embossing folder as the first card , but we embossed plain cardstock and layered the toppers at angles lining up the sunbeams. The card is decorated with die-cut flowers and leaves which have been cut from cardstock which has been inked with Distress inks - Victorian Velvet and Peeled Paint.

Hope you have enjoyed this weeks creations

Cherry Blossom..........

Using the John Lockwood stamp set - Cherry Blossom Elements we created two beautiful cards in this weeks workshop.

First,we embossed a piece of white card and the stamped the smallest flower within the trellis. The flowers were coloured with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.The frame was stamped onto white card and again coloured with distress ink and a sentiment from the stamp set stamped in the corner. The card was trimmed with ribbon and a bow.

The second card was coloured with a much more vibrant colour. This time we used Mustard seed Distress Ink.The background was embossed using the treasure box embossing folder and a layer of white card was stamped around the edges and coloured before being layered with a stamped frame coloured in the same Distress ink colour.

Hope you enjoyed the cards
