Little Christmas Tree...

Little Christmas Tree...

Our creations for the week...

This week our Ladies and Gentlemen made two beautiful Christmas cards. The Christmas Tree stamp used as the main theme of each of the cards were taken from John Lockwood's 'Element Stamp Set - Holly Tree Elements'.

The trees were stamped onto the card using Perfect Medium, then embossing them with Cosmic Shimmer Detail Embossing Powder - Bright Gold (CE-CSDEPGOLD). Our Ladies and Gentlemen stamped onto black card first, creating almost a 'silhouette' effect. For the second card, the tree was stamped onto white card and embossed. It was then filled in using Distress Inks as watercolours. 'Fired Brick' (PI-TIM20202) and 'Peeled Paint' (PI-TIM20233) were the colours used to create this effect.

Couture Creations Embossing Folder - Twiggy Christmas (CE-EFC0723881) and Xcut 6x6 Embossing Folder - Poinsettia Pattern (DO - XCU 515906) were used for the backgrounds.
Using the de-embossed side of the card, both backgrounds were created by using Cosmic Shimmer Textured Sparkle Paste in colour 'Warm Gold'. Against the green and black card, the Sparkle Paste creates a wonderfully 'Christmassy' effect.

Ribbon and Dazzlers were used to embellish. The examples shown above are Gingham Ribbon 7mm- Red, Organza Ribbon 15mm - White (W-RIB01) and Creative Expressions Gold Mixed Dazzlers 18mm (12PK) .

We hope you enjoyed our cards from our workshop this week.

Money & Gift Wallets

Money & Gift Wallets....

Our project for this weeks workshop was to create Money and Gift Wallets perfect for Christmas Vouchers and Gift Cards.

To make the CD/Gift Sleeve, the ladies cut a template from Kraft Cardstock. They randomly stamped one of Sue Wilson's Stamps To Die For - Poinsettia - using Perfect Medium. Then embossing with Cosmic Shimmer Detail Embossing Powder - Bright Gold (CE-CSDEPGOLD). The Poinsettia's were coloured in using Distress Inks. Once the Inks and embossing powder had dried, the Cardstock was embossed using Creative Expressiosn A4 Embossing Folder - Holly Lattice (CE-EF-057). The ladies then following their templates, cut, scored and folded the card to create the sleeve and before gluing together, added a red bow for decoration.

The techniques were repeated to create the second and third Money/Gift Wallets, however different card and paper were used. Embellishments were changed accordingly also.

We hope you like our projects for this week.

Mistletoe....

Mistletoe.....

This week our ladies created two gorgeous cards - inspired by our recent Demo Day with Julia Watts.

During our Demo Day last month, Julia Watts used a range of these products to create a variety of different and beautiful Christmas cards, so our cards this week were inspired by the products she used, to create something special of our own.

The main feature and the Die used to create the cards was Spellbinder's 'Card Creator Mistletoe Card Front'.

This beautiful Die, although is in Spellbinder's Holiday Collection, could be used for an everyday card if adapted where suitable.

Double sided adhesive sheets were stuck the die-cut front on both cards. The first card was decorated with Mica Powders to create a beautiful metallic background. The second, again, used Mica Powders to make the similar effect - just using different colours. However, to give this card a different look and to give it some 'sparkle' for Christmas, a layer of Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Jewels - 'Iced Snow' was added to the double sided adhesive. Effortlessly creating a stunning effect.

The ladies embellished each of their cards with Organza Ribbon, that complemented the Mica Powders that had chosen to use to produce their backgrounds.

We hope you enjoyed our 'Mistletoe' cards for this week.

Flip-out Frame Cards...

Flip-out Frame Cards...

This week our ladies made two beautiful 'Flip-out Frame' cards.

Our ladies cut the cards taking the measurements from a template which you can find below.

The ladies used a range of different coloured and patterned vellum for the 'picture' part of the Frame card. They then embellished the cards with Sue Wilson's 'Stamps to Die for - Shaded Poinsettia' (UMS634), Sue Wilson's 'Festive Collection - Merry Christmas' (CED3026) and Sue Wilson's 'Festive Collection - Snowflakes' (CED3020).

We hope you enjoyed our cards for this weeks workshop.
