Bold Blooms......

For our 'Bold Blooms' workshop this week, our ladies created these two cards..

The Woodware stamp 'Harriet' (JGS413) was used on both of the cards this week. The ladies used a variety of Stickles to decorate the edges of the stamp and using a mixture of Distress Inks and Colour Clouds, created watercolours that were used to fill in the middle.

The backgrounds were created by taking Masks by Creative Expressions and using the Colour Cloud Blending Ink, also by Creative Expressions,  and building the colour until complete. 

The cards were embellished with various pieces of ribbon, all differing in style and colour.

This Week's Workshop....

This week our ladies made two beautiful cards. 

All the products used in this week's workshop were from Creative Expressions.

The Tim Holtz Distress Stains were the main product used on each card. 

They were used here over the top of one of John Lockwood's stamps. Then, once it had dried, was covered with a sheet of double sided adhesive (cut down to size), and covered in Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Jewels for a 'sparkly' effect. The distress stains were used on top of another of John Lockwood's stamps, to create the topper. This time without the Glitter Jewels. 

A variety of Distress Stains were used here once again, on top of another stamp to create a beautiful effect, that was different for each of our ladies, due to the way the stains are applied to the card. Therefore, it will be different every time and will create a unique look to every card.

By The Sea.....

By The Sea.....

For our Workshop this week our ladies made two beautiful 'seaside' inspired cards.

For the first card, the ladies Die-cut the wave, seahorses, crabs and seashells using the Joy Crafts Dies 'Waves', 'Shell-Starfish-Conch' and 'Crab-Seahorse'. They layered them on top of a Cheery Lynn Die to create the Seaweed effect. 

Natural hemp cord was added to the card for a finishing touch. The frames around the outside of the card are Spellbinders - Grand Nestabilities - Grand Labels One. The sentiment in the centre of the card differed for each of our ladies, however, any stamp could be used here.  

The second card our ladies created in the Workshop was the lighthouse card. 

The paper used  to create the 'weaved' effect was Graphic 45's By the Sea backed onto blue card. Die-cut Buttons were added with natural hemp cord.

The Lighthouse Stamp is a Creative Expressions stamp designed by Sam Poole (CE-UMS147 - Lighthouse). The ladies coloured the stamp using a variety of Distress Inks as watercolours for a different effect. 

Mark Richards Self Adhesive 5mm Nail Heads were then added around the outside of the framed stamp.

Button Board Cards...

Button Board Cards... 


Our ladies created these lovely 'Button Board' cards last week in our most recent Workshop. 

Both had a very summery feel to them and could be used for creating masculine and feminine cards. 

Both square and circular punches were used to create this look. Giving the card dimension and depth. The ladies added pretty embellishments, such as the 'summery' wooden butterflies and flowers, different coloured Candi and a variety of buttons. 

The same technique was used on the second card, however Graphic 45's 'By The Sea' paper pack was used to create a 'seaside' feel. Again, embellished with buttons and Card Candi to give a more masculine feel. 

To continue with the 'seaside' theme, the ladies embossed the backing card with Crafters Companion's 6 x 6 Embossalicious Embossing Folder - Beach Huts. Using it to frame the bottom of they're cards and finished it off by rubbing Gilding Wax over the top.
