Christmas in the Country - Stocking

A Christmas workshop... our ladies made a Stocking which they can fill with Goodies and an Easel card.

To make a 3D Stocking - draw a stocking template approx 6"(15cm) in height.Cut out 2 stockings -one facing left and one facing right so you have a pair. Cut out pieces for the toes and heels.Cut 2 strips of paper 3"(7.5cm) in width x 12"(30cm) in length-Glue together and score each long side 1cm in from edge.Snip upto score line on each side.Glue tabs on one side ,secure onto stocking starting at the  bottom following the outline around heel and toe and then up the sides.Continue with the other side starting at the toe which will make it much easier to glue together.Make sure that the sides line up and the stocking is not twisted.Trim off any excess.Embellish top of stocking with punched paper strips,pom-poms,buttons etc.

A Christmas easel card using papers from the Papermania Christmas in the Country collection.Die-cut shapes have been layered to create the Topper and punched Holly leaves and a Button make the stopper.

At Christmas

At Christmas by Lucy Cromwell is a beautiful collection of papers, decoupage,Stamps,Ribbon ,Boxes and Tags.A 6" x 6" Album has been made from cardstock with a concertina spine and covered with patterned paper from the Paper Pack (PMA 160151).The stockings have been stamped and decoupaged onto the front of the album.Velvet Ribbon (PMA 367601) has been used to trim the card and  a sentiment has been added using the stamp which comes with the Stockings (PMA 907119).

We made an 8" x 8" square card using the 6" x 6" card kit( PMA 169060).We took the front of the card and cut off the back. Not to be wasted, you can us this on another craft project.Decoupage using all the elements in the pack to create a topper. Two layers of patterned paper from the paper pack have been used  for the background.A length of ribbon has been tied around before attaching to card front. A punched border has been added along the side of the decoupaged topper. The card has been finished with a bow.
It is hard to see from the picture ,but the card has been embellished with 3mm Gold Nailheads (MR1983) for the Baubles on the Tree and Poinsettia Garland along the Mirror and for a little sparkle which is a must on Christmas Cards we added Glamour Dust or you can use something similar.

Angels for Christmas Cards are wonderful and here we have used a silhouette cling stamp from Creative Expressions.Stamped in Black on an Oval die-cut with inked edges. The background paper is a copy of the carol "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" mounted onto green cardstock.  We have trimmed the card with die-cut flowers inked to complement the colour scheme and some punched Holly

Same stamp ,different look !
Here we have cut out a circle from the backing paper and the same size circle from white card and then inlaid the white circle in the backing paper to create the background. This has been mounted onto dark blue cardstock and stamped with the Angel in blue.We have edges the circle with Cosmic shimmer glitter jewels for that added sparkle which is hard to see in the picture.

Vintage Christmas

Hello Crafters, just want to share with you the cards our ladies have made today in the workshop. With the above card we have diverted away from the traditional Red and Green and gone for Shades of Grey and Yellow. We have picked out the yellow in the Tartan card and coloured our cardstock to match using Distress Ink Pad - Scattered Straw then the corners have been die-cut using a Marianne Creatables Die LR0255. For the Window we have used a Marianne Craftable Die CR1259 .This has also been inked with distress ink pad - Scattered Straw before removing the die-cut from the stencil.

Embossed backgrounds,Die-cut Labels and Die-cut Elements make up this much more traditional card.We embossed the beige background using a Spellbinders Mbossabilities Folder -Floral Labels Four (E3D-009).You will see that there is a blank area which co-ordinates with the Spellbinders Nestabilities - Labels Four (S4-190) so we have die-cut a frame and an image from a cutting sheet.
We have trimmed the card with die-cut embellishments from Cottage Cutz dies - Ornate Poinsettia (CC4X4-423) and Winter Pine Branch (CCE-045).
More cards next week!
