Creative Expressions Designer Tree

Leaving Christmas cards behind ,we have been creating cards in a workshop using the Designer Tree  stamp set.The stamps are clear so ready to mount onto acylic blocks.Along with the Tree elements there are also sentiments included in the set.

This card is great to use for Valentine , Anniversaries or a Birthday card for a loved one.Take a piece of cardstock measuring 297mm x 130mm,score at 9cm and 15cm .

Cut 3 pieces of red cardstock (14cm x 12.5cm , 8.5cm x 12.5cm,5.5cm x 12.5cm )

Cut 3 pieces of Red Gingham paper (13.5cm x 12cm , 8cm x 12cm ,5cm x 12cm).Mount red gingham onto plain red cardstock.

Taking largest matt,stick a piece of red cardstock( 5.5cm x 12.5cm) onto matt 8.5cm in from right hand side.Cut a piece of red gingham 2cm x 12.5cm amd punch along one edge.Mount onto red cardstock.

  Tread Heart beads onto invisible thread,fasten to back of panel before mounting onto card.

Mount other two panels onto card.

Cut a piece of red cardstock 10cm x 10cm,Green cardstock 9.5cm x 9.5cm and white cardstock 9cm x 9cm.Stamp Tree onto white card,trunk has been stamped using Versafine Sepia and the Tree Top has been stamped using Fired Brick Distress Ink pad.Mount all three layers together and stick to front of card.Cut a piece of white cardstock 5cm x 6cm and stamp with sentiment,mount onto green card 5.5cm x 6.5cm.Place inside card.

For heart embellishments,punch 8 hearts,

score and fold in half.Stick 4 back to back to make one embellishment.

Cut a piece of cardstock 297mm x 150mm,score and fold in half.Cut a piece of brown card 14.5cm x 14.5cm and 4 pieces of green patterned cardstock (different designs) 9.5cm x4.5cm.Stick green pieces to the brown card in a square leaving a small square in the middle.Faux stitch all four green panels.

Cut a piece of brown cardstock 10cm x 10cm and a piece of white cardstock 9.5cm x 9.5cm.Stamp the white card with the Tree.Stamp the trunk with Versafine Sepia ink pad and the TreeTop with Perfect Medium then brush over with Cosmic Shimmer Mica Pigmnets.Mount onto centre of matt.Tie ribbon around and then mount onto the front of the card.

Creative Expression Project Book

This publication from Creative Expressions has been produced to provide inspiration for crafters of all levels. It will also give inspiration towards mastering new skills, exploring different styles and to try new products.

 

There is a collection of 21 Unique Creative Projects from designers including Sue Wilson,Sam Poole,Lynne Gilbert and others.

Hearts and Flowers

Another exciting workshop this morning.We were using the delightful Dreamweaver Stencils and Embossing Paste.

Glittered Hearts Easel Card- Elegance in itself.

Take a piece of cardstock (finished size 11.5cm x 13.5cm),place stencil over the top and secure with low tack tape.Apply Embossing Paste,scraping off excess.Sprinkle on glitter and tip off any excess.Peel away stencil carefully and leave to dry.

Take an A4 piece of cardstock,cut to 29cm x 14.5cm.Score in half and score one half again.

Cut another piece of cardstock 14.5cm x 14.5cm-this will create the front of the card.

Cover the inside of the base of the card with patterned paper .Cut 2 strips of brown cardstock 14cm x 2.5cm and 2 strips of red glitter card 14cm x 1.5cm.Punch two strips of hearts using the Martha Stewart  Heart Loops Trim Edge punch.Layer all of these together to create two strips,raise using foam tape to create stopper.

Take glittered topper and mount onto brown card 12cm x 14cm.Cover the card front with patterned paper and mount topper to the right.Tie ribbon around the whole card front before attaching to the base.

Take a piece of cardstock (finished size 8cm x 11.5cm),place stencil over the top and secure with low tack tape.Apply Embossing Paste,scraping off excess.Carefully remove the stencil and leave to dry.When dry replace the stencil and apply Cosmic Shimmer Mica Pigments with a brush.Remove stencil and brush away any loose powder.

Take an A4 piece of cardstock,cut to 25.5cm x 18cm (10" x 7"),score and fold in half.

Cut a piece of Dark Blue card 12cm x 17cm and a piece of Grey Card 11.5cm x 16.5cm,mount together and stick to front of card.

Cut a piece of Grey dot card 11cm x 15cm and ink edges with distress ink (Faded Jeans).Cut 2 pieces of Dark Blue Crad  - one 10cm x 12cm and the other 2.5cm x 15cm.Punch both pieces on one side only along the longestest length(Punch from the middle to the outside edges).Mount the Dark Blue card together matching the punched pattern.Stick to grey dot card,tie ribbon around-make sure the bow is tied at the top above the Dark blue mat.Mount onto card.

Take the Flower topper and mount onto front of card.
